omg i actually cried at that ending i love this game sm
so goodd
I'm gonna cry ;-; my baby😢 I would have run away with him 😭😭
I would kill someone for more Pasha 😔
Well, you won't have to kill anyone, a full sequel has been funded and is in development. You can find more info in the dev logs. :)
Aww i cried a little.
That game was EVERYTHING, it quickly became one of the best i've ever played!! but you could've AT LEAST kiss the brick before throwing it at us </3
I need more
this is a absolute banger! (No pun intended)
Hay un final feliz? ( T T)
A sequel is in development! Check the development logs on this page :)
Such a bittersweet ending I love it TToTT
My poor Pasha.....
I need him baaaack *sobs against the wall*
I literally cried this was so bittersweet but it was so good. I had to do a video of this game. You made me fall for Pasha and then broke my heart at the end, like I knew a Love story for a Hitman can end a number of ways and most will not be a happy ending but this tore something inside of me I was left wanting more and I do hope that you get funded enough for part 2 because I would love to see him have his happy end. You did a really great job I loved this so much!
What a bitter sweet game, Pasha will now forever live rent free in my head, I hope the Kofi will be fully funded (i know I'll be dropping some money the moment i get paid) but I loved every single second of it, the writing and art work where so fantastic and it was such a delight to fall in love with Pasha and loose him so quick.
While one side of me chomps at the bit for more content, the angst lover in me just loves the right person at the wrong time themes of it. just again mesmerizing work
had me kicking my feet
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! soooooooo goood idk if your serious about a thousand to make a part two but if you are I'm going to come back when I have the money. I need my man backkkkkk😭
No, I am dead serious lolol. Someone actually suggested to me to make it a goal on Ko-Fi? I might do that so it's less hard on everyone...
i just made an account just to comment this: this ending made me cry for so long omg, you really are a good writer
okay, how much for a happy end ?? like a dlc/ a short game/etc I will pay
Ahh, are you seriously asking?
Tbh I'm not planning on coming back to this again because I think it's a complete ending, but I think a thousand dollars would make me rethink this and I'll make a whole "MC finds him 3 years later and becomes a hitman and they get married" story that's about 10k-20k words lol
(It's okay if that's too steep... I think the price has to be high since I wasn't planning anything else and I would have to set other projects aside to work on that one, but I *do* actually have the muse to execute such a concept, I just need to be able to eat and Reanimated Heart is currently my main source of income...)
First, don't worry; you didn't sound too steep, you sounded perfectly reasonable. Second, it is a very complete ending. I just struggle with bittersweet endings, but it is an amazing (and rational? or expected?) end. Third, unfortunately, I do not have a thousand dollars to give, but if I win the lottery, you can bet that I would invest it (and in all the other indie games that I love). Also (maybe because English is not my first language), this was not a demand as much as it was to say that I love the game so much that if you get more inspiration and decide to do more, I would buy it, the same way I intend to buy Reanimated Heart when it is released because I love the way you write characters.
WOW That ending made me cry like crazy. I knew it was coming but it still hit so hard ! 1000/10 best short story game
no surprise here that another of your games made it into my favorites. pasha is adorable and deserves the world. </3 also... immediately started tearing up when i heard the music in the final scene.
how dare youthank you for the emotional damage. but really, thank you for sharing his story with us!Never have a found myself thinking the same line as an MC as it came across my screen until today, I never did want those quaters back. I am sad now. Good game Jack
I love the game, but ... how much for a dlc or a continuation? I want sparrow and pasha with a happy end, dammit (˃̣̣̥ᯅ˂̣̣̥)!!! (this is going to my favs list ♡)
I played this game as blind as I could.
I saw his face, I saw the title of the game, and I hit download.
The aesthetic of this game is absolutely enchanting, and the artwork is so lovely.
Playing this game was like looking at an old snapshot and thinking very wistfully about the person whom is the contents of it, which is very apt considering the aesthetic and the ending.
The whole thing makes it feel like Pasha is wisps of smoke, I personally felt honored that he liked me enough to pass through my fingers on the way out rather than never interacting with me.
His background and how everything came about for him was so out of left field that I nearly felt like I was playing a comedy vn for a second, if not for the seriousness and the gravity everything else is treated with.
I feel warmly that even if Pasha ultimately has to let MC go, that necklace will stay in a place of honor, either on their person or in their house, and Pasha will always carry warm and fond memories even if he goes and does other things, or finds other people (If I have read correctly in his info screen, he later gets married).
As the game aptly puts it: You are two ships passing through the night, signaling to each other, letting them know you are there, and you see them too.
Beautiful and melancholy game, amazing work on all fronts.
Thank you for the kind comments!!
I just want to clarify here... I am very, very aware of how much explicitly stating his background detracts from the game and how intense of a tonal whiplash it is. (If it was tonally different, more action-oriented maybe, I would've gotten away with it...) Initially, I left it vague because I thought it contributed to the vibe that MC can't fully "know" him (which was much better) but I deliberately decided to put it there because, in the initial release, certain bad actors attacked me anonymously because they assumed that this was somehow a Pro-Russia propaganda piece because they assumed Pasha was a modern day Russian soldier when even from inception he's been a Cold War soviet spy sent to America. I thought it was irresponsible to leave it vague considering that was brought into the conversation and the time period of when this was published because of said assumptions so ultimately I decided to compromise on ruining the tone a little bit just to have his background explicitly stated in the work because I assumed everything else would move past that part.
Anyway, I rarely reply to comments, but I decided to explain my piece here because I was wondering if people are going to notice that (and they did!) so now they have an explanation about why that part was put in
Rest assured that it d isn't ruin it for me!
It didn't completely yank me out of the story, I just thought it was rather funny, and I understand where you are coming from, I think this was a good compromise if people are going to be making a lot of bad faith interpretations of you and your work :/
Thank you for your explanation though, hope to see more from you whenever the inspiration strikes you <3
I am really bad with goodbyes, but this game is a great example of an experience so wonderful its worth the pain. 100% positive if I were MC I'd still get close to Pasha, even if I knew the end (except I'd also hunt him down because this is my choice too dagnabit and you're worth the risk). Adored this game and will definitely recommend it♡ Thank you for making it and sharing it with us!!! It's amazing and beautifully done. A wonderful experience not soon forgotten.
another peak from Double Dead Studio! what a great day to be alive!
I HAVEN'T PLAYED IT YET BUT I KNOW IMA LOVE IT
I need more Pasha~ Thank you for making such an amazing game!!
It's so impressive you've made this wonderful game in 4 days! I just really love your games, they are really special. And I actually cried a bit at the end, really freaking sad and a really touching short romance tale. I wouldn't mind at all seeing Pavel again :')
if 'looks like they haven't slept in years' is a type then that's definitely my type... oh my and when he kissed my hand i was kicking my feet :3c
This is so good! If I may ask, does it have different endings or just one?
Aside from bad ends, just the one!
*falls to my knees* amazing as usual, you are so good at setting a mood for your games!!
I loved it <3333 Seriously, it was so well written. Pasha is a pookie (I tried replaying to see the different options, but I don’t know how to get the one where he kisses our hand :') ahahah). Anyway, I love your work and your characters as always—it’s truly amazing (the aesthetic and the art style are so beautiful). To keep it short, as always, you guys delivered <333 !!!!
(You have to complain to him in an early scene then ask him to kill people later on... ;) )
